Alpret Control Specialists is owned by Aveng (Africa) Limited previously Grinaker-LTA Limited a subsidiary of the JSE listed AVENG Group.  Aveng (Africa) Limited is a multi-discipline construction and engineering group anchored in South Africa and focused on infrastructure, energy and mining opportunities in Africa. 

The Group is 75% owned by Aveng and 25% by Qakazana Investment Holdings (Pty) Limited, a Black Empowerment Company.  The Aveng Group led the way in the construction and steel industries by being the first significant group to conclude a high-level black economic empowerment transaction, resulting in 25% of its South African subsidiaries being owned by the Tiso led broad-based empowerment consortium.

Black economic empowerment is a social and economic imperative in South Africa today.  The company firmly believes that economic transformation is essential for the sustainable development of South Africa and for its future competitiveness.  Empowerment is a critical element of that transformation. 

The Group supports the concept of the balanced scorecard as outlined by the South African Government's Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and participates in various forums and industry bodies in order to achieve a quantifiable and consistent definition covering all aspects of the balanced scorecard.
